For Spanish Learners:  Getting Fluent Quickly (and Enjoyably)

Here's how to reach a commanding level of Spanish very quickly, without even studying.

Perhaps you've always wanted to be a fluent Spanish speaker, or perhaps the desire to learn Spanish has recently been sparked in you. Regardless, contrary to popular belief, you don't have to spend countless hours of grueling study to master the language.

In fact, with Ecela Spanish's immersion program in South America, you actually don't have to study at all. (It can help with some people and even speed up your progress, but honestly it's optional)

This program can have you speaking fluently in just 18 weeks.

Here's how:

You Have One Focus

Traveling to South America and taking this immersion program allows you to focus strictly on learning Spanish. The distractions of your day-to-day life at home are taken out of the equation.

You're Surrounded by Spanish

You will see and hear Spanish every day, all day, giving you an ear for the language and helping you to pick up the language subconsciously.

For instance, you will overhear conversations in Spanish while walking down the street, and you will see the language on menus at restaurants, allowing you to learn without even realizing it.

Everyone Has a Common Goal

The students in your class will be diverse, yet everyone has the same goal of becoming fluent in Spanish. Take advantage of this tremendous support where everyone is working towards the same goal, but in a noncompetitive atmosphere that is conducive to learning.

The Teachers Are Engaging

While we place importance on the academic background of our teachers, we expect our teachers to connect with and keep their students engaged. This way, students are excited about learning and look forward to each class.

An Ecela instructor trains students in the fundamentals.

There's an Immediate Incentive

It is exciting to be able to put what you learn to immediate use. You will be able to practice what you learn right away in the real world, which is a wonderful incentive to continue to learn more.

Balance Between Grammar and Conversation

Many language courses focus heavily on grammar, but at Ecela, we maintain a good balance between grammar and conversation.

In fact, 50% of our classes are conversation classes, which lets you learn via conversing.

You Will Be Present

Studying away from home in South America places you not only in a different physically, but also mentally. This enables you to let go of any past regrets and future worries, allowing you be in the now, with a clear and open mind for learning.

The Classes Are Small

Each class at Ecela are kept very small, which means you receive a lot of individual attention. The small class size also helps to keep you more focused on class and learning.

A Lot of Speaking Time

You will have ample opportunity to speak in Spanish between the classroom and being out in the real world. Often, this area of learning is lacking in traditional Spanish classes, as well as when people study language on their own.

  • Each day you will spend two hours with a private coach, working on areas of difficulty.
  • You will also spend two hours in group conversation each day, allowing you to practice your Spanish in a small and supportive environment. This is an ideal opportunity to learn from the mistakes of other students.
  • Another two hours each day is spent in "field practice," where you will converse with people at shops, cafes, and so forth.
  • You will also spend two hours of Spanish practice a day at your homestay, talking with your host and sharing meals with him or her.
