Starring Frank Ramírez and Isabela Corona, A Man of Principle (Cóndores no Entie–>rran Todos los Días) is a film set during the 1940s, a time that in Columbia was politically heated to the point of violence between the conservative and liberal parties.
In the middle of it all, Leon Maria Lozano is a conservative activist who has to struggle with both discrimination from liberals and in-fighting among conservatives that go at it hammer and tongs. The film tells the story of his life, along with showing the extent of the horrific violence during the era.
During the course of the film, Lozano’s frustration with the situation grows, and eventually he himself becomes a dangerous opponent in the political civil war.
A Man of Principle is not merely a piece of historical fiction, but a cautionary tale about judging others without knowing them and the refusal to take a bipartisan approach to problems in politics.
The film was a selection for the 1984 Cannes Film Festival and the 1990 Sundance Film Festival. Awards include the Silver Hugo for Best Actor at the 1984 Chicago International Film Festival.

En medio de todo, León María Lozano es un activista conservador que ha luchado contra la discriminación de los liberales y las peleas internas entre los conservadores, que se tiran los trastos a la cabeza. La película narra la historia de su vida, mientras muestra la extensa y horrenda violencia de esa época.
En el curso de la película, la frustración de Lozano aumenta conforme empeora la situación y eventualmente se convierte en un oponente peligroso en la guerra civil política.
Cóndores no entierran todos los días no es solamente una pieza de ficción histórica, es además una historia cautivante que trata sobre juzgar a otros sin conocerlos y de rehusarse a tomar una solución bipartidista en tiempos de problemas políticos.
La película fue elegida para el Festival de Películas de 1984 y en el Sundance Film Festival de 1990. Los premios incluyen el Silver Hugo al Mejor Actor en el Chicago International Film Festival en 1984.

“…las peleas internas entre los conservadores, que se tiran los trastos a la cabeza…” (“the internal squabbles among conservatives, that go at it hammer and tongs…”) The word ‘trasto’ means one of the furniture and utensils in a house. ‘Tirarse los trastos a la cabeza’ is an expression similar to ‘have a blazing row’ or ‘go at it hammer and tongs’ when people fight, argue or start insulting each other.
Example: “No entres a la habitación, Tony y Teresa se tiran los trastos a la cabeza por todo lo que pasó la semana pasada entre ellos”. Do not enter the room, Tony and Teresa are having a blazing row for all that happened last week between them.”
