In a story that takes place mainly during Argentina’s Dirty War, a federal agent and his alcoholic friend are assigned to the rape and murder of a woman named Liliana Coloto. The lawlessness during the Dirty War adds additional challenges beyond the standard murder mystery that keeps the public in suspense, and everything is told through the eyes of a novelist who also worked on the case.
The film received not only strong acclaim for the writing and thematic elements of the film, but also praise for an impressive, five minute long shot of a football stadium that took an immense amount of effort to make happen, including about a year’s worth of production on and off the set.
