Argentina’s most famous Carnaval celebration, known as Carnaval del Pais, is held in the city of Gualeguaychu, located between Buenos Aires and Iguazu. Though you’ve probably never heard of this Argentine city, its carnaval is considered on par with the internationally famed celebrations in Rio and Venice.
Gualeguaychu’s festivities last for weeks, with the main attraction being a huge parade that is actually a competition between 3 main groups, including Mari Mari which is the group featured in the video. The theme of their 2013 carnaval entry was rebirth and the water of life.
