Estancias in Mendoza: Casonas del Cerro

If you are taking a Spanish course in Argentina, you certainly do not want to  miss out on visiting estancias while you are in the country. The word  “estancias” is translated to the English word ranch. While you may have never  visited a ranch in the United States, ranches are a huge part of Argentina’s  economy and culture. As a result, there are a wide variety of estancias to  choose from located throughout the region. If you are attending Spanish schools  in Mendoza, estancias should not be too far away.
For the next three weeks, we will explore the  best estancias to visit while you are living and studying in this city.
Most estancias welcome tourists and show them a very good time. One of the  reasons that estancias are so important to Argentina is the country’s dependence  on meat and grain. This region is known for producing some of the world’s best  steaks. As a result, when you visit an estancia, you can expect some first-class  meals. Many serve barbeques with fresh local vegetables. However, the food at  the estancias is just one of the many things that draw tourists into these  destinations.
Another popular estancia near Mendoza is Casonas del Cerro, which is located in  the hills of San Juan. Accommodations include comfortable rooms in buildings  made from stone, adobe and wood. The environment includes fruit trees and  vineyards as well as ample opportunities for seeing wildlife. Visitors to  Casonas del Cerro can enjoy hiking, biking, bird watching, climbing and  swimming. While attending Spanish schools in Mendoza, Club Tapiz would also be  convenient to visit. Since this historic building was built in 1900, it provides  a unique historic atmosphere. In fact, it is even considered a national  landmark. Visitors can enjoy golf, rafting, horseback riding and wine tasting at  Club Tapiz.

One of the many benefits of participating in a Spanish course in Argentina is  the fact that you will have the opportunity to explore a fascinating country  that hosts a wide variety of things to do. While you may end up spending time  enjoying nightlife and museums in the city, be sure that you also have a chance  to explore the great outdoors. Visiting an estancia is the perfect way to view  the country’s scenery and enjoy various recreational opportunities.
