Student spotlight: A Hawaiian retiree shares his top tip for a spectacular varation

After retiring, I decided to try and learn Spanish. I researched the available programs in Central and South America and found that Ecela was uniformly rated as excellent.
I decided to attend Ecela’s school in Cusco because I wanted to combine a spectacular vacation with my language studies. I took introductory Spanish for three weeks in Cusco, combining my classes with tours of the city and the area’s many Incan archeological sites.
It was incredible! I received one-on-one instruction from Erik, who is the most patient, kind, supportive, and excellent teacher I can imagine. Every morning with Erik was a delight, and in the afternoons, Ecela arranged great adventures for me: horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, and touring.
My accommodations at an apartment with other students were great, and I got to practice my nascent Spanish with my fellow students and our neighbors. All this at a very, very reasonable price.

Decidí asistir a la escuela de Ecela en Cusco porque quería combinar unas espectaculares vacaciones con mis estudios de idiomas. Tomé el español introductorio durante tres semanas en Cusco, combinando mis clases con recorridos por la ciudad y los muchos sitios arqueológicos incaicos de la zona.
¡Fue increíble! Recibí instrucciones de uno a uno de parte de Erik, que es el maestro más paciente, amable, de gran apoyo y excelente que se pueda imaginar. Cada mañana con Erik era una delicia, y en las tardes, Ecela organizó aventuras grandes para mí: cabalgatas, ciclismo de montaña, senderismo y turismo.
El hospedaje en un apartamento con otros estudiantes fue maravilloso, y empecé a practicar mi español naciente con mis compañeros y nuestros vecinos. Todo esto a un precio muy, muy razonable.
