If you want to learn Spanish and immerse yourself in  the culture, ECELA Santiago is a good school for it. Originally, my  plan was to take Spanish classes for two weeks but I enjoyed the grammar  and conversation classes so much, I decided to stay for another week. I  learned so much in a short period of time but I wish I could have  stayed much longer.   Initially I felt uncomfortable in the class because the teachers only  spoke Spanish (total Spanish immersion). I felt intimidated because I  didn’t have a lot of experience in speaking Spanish. But after a couple  of days, I felt more at ease and more comfortable speaking Spanish with  the teachers and the class. There were students from different parts of  the country with diverse Spanish experience and the teachers tailored  their teaching based on the students’ knowledge in Spanish. The teachers  were great and they made learning Spanish fun.   Also, what made my time in Santiago memorable and absolutely fun were  the after school and weekend activities: museums, salsa lessons, cooking  classes, walks around the city and parks, and outdoors trips. These  activities allowed me to explore the beautiful city of Santiago, speak  Spanish and really got to know other students.
