Before I came to ECELA, I studied Spanish for the equivalent of six years in the United States. Despite that, however, I did not have the ability to speak fluently. In fact, I could not understand native Spanish speakers in more complex conversation. So, I knew without a doubt that I needed to go abroad to learn to speak like a native. Consequently, when ECELA contacted me and told me about the Spanish and Law program in Buenos Aires, I decided immediately to participate. And this was the best decision I could have made.
After attending ECELA for five weeks, my fluency has improved dramatically. Now, I feel more comfortable when I’m speaking in complex sentences and listening to academic lectures on the law. I can ask my teachers questions and give answers in class. Also, I have expanded my perspective because I talk to people around the world and also due to my study of the legal history of Argentina and its own legal problems. Actually, because of my amazing experience with ECELA, I’m seriously considering the possibility of returning to Buenos Aires to work and live. Without a doubt, I would recommend that people who have a legitimate desire to learn Spanish attend ECELA. The school offers a variety of courses with talented and friendly teachers. ECELA promises the opportunity of a lifetime.
