What stands out to me is the quality of ECELA’s team in Lima. They are very friendly and make a lot of effort to welcome and get to know their students. At the same time, they are very professional. The school is in a spacious building on a quiet street, walking distance from the sea as well as good restaurants and bars. The teachers are patient, and they smile a lot. They take a clear and structured approach. But they also work hard to ensure that classes are enjoyable – humourous and fun – and based on interesting subjects and materials, including videos, recordings and newspapers. There are breaks between classes to give you a chance to relax and enjoy a coffee, fruit, and pastries. The result is a relaxed and informal environment, interesting and effective lessons, and a friendly community where you meet a wide range of people. The weekly social activities help you get to know Lima, learn about Peru’s culture (including trying your hand at mixing cocktails and cooking, or your feet at dancing), and to travel further afield. All in all, it’s a great environment for learning.
