Thomas Kraeger, Deutchland – Spanish School in Santiago Chile
Comencé trabajo voluntario en Santiago de Chile, porque quería ayudar a las personas, que me ayudaron acostumbrarme a este país. Antes de ese experiencia nunca había trabajado con niños – pero en Teleton todas las personas me acompañaron y me dieron ayuda cuando la necesitaba. Fue una experiencia inolvidable, no solo por ser amigo de los niños, los padres y trabajadores, sino también por conocer los barrios pobres en donde viven y ver la diferencia entre tu vida y la suya.
I began my volunteer work in Santiago de Chile because I wanted to help people, and have them, in turn, help me become accustomed to this country. Before this experience I had never worked with children, but in Teleton all the people accompanied me and helped me when I needed it. It was an unforgettable experience, not only for having been a friend to the children, parents, and workers, but also for getting to know the impoverished neighborhoods where they lived and see the different between my life and theirs.
