Many times future ECELA students wonder about social opportunities while studying Spanish in new places. There are many chances for you to meet new people. You will meet people your age (no matter what age you are!), people from different generations, fellow paisanos, people from different countries, people with similar interests, and people with whom you will have many things to discuss. There is no shortage of socialization! In fact, you will even get to know the faculty and staff at the school(s) quite well. We are one big family at ECELA!
Here are a few of the opportunities you will discover during which you can meet friends and socialize:
- refreshment breaks during class hours
- after-school activities
- special group activities organized by fellow students
- your host family
- your host family’s friends
- fellow students in your apartment
- waiters in restaurants
- friends of new friends
- school faculty
- school staff
- fellow volunteers
- fellow medical shadowing students
- ……and many more!
We often find that those who travel and study Spanish with us are among the innovative, exploring types of people. A special bond is formed when you study Spanish far from home!
